Although we’re still a small company ReignDesign now has four global offices: in Shanghai, Barcelona, Bangkok and Santiago. In this blog series we’re going to introduce our home cities to you through the voices of our team. We’ve asked one ReignDesign team member in each city to recommend a cool place to visit, to eat, to drink and to sleep!

Visit Here – The Rockbund Art Museum
The Rockbund Art Museum is the first contemporary art museum in China. Even though I don’t go to museums much, I visit this place when I want to be away from the busy city. It has well-curated exhibitions and also the surrounding of the building is delightful. The museum was founded as an important part of the Rockbund Urban Renaissance project which aims to renovate heritage buildings. After enjoying the five floors of an exhibition, go to the top floor to exchange your ticket with a free coffee. There are a gift shop and a terrace, just sit outside and appreciate the view of old Shanghai.
Eat Here – Ao House Taiwan Hot Pot
I am a big, huge, mega fan of Hot Pot. I’ve tried different types of Hotpot from many restaurants in Shanghai, so I can say I know what is good. Recently I found Ao House Taiwan Hot Pot in the Former French Concession. Their ingredients are fresh, and their chicken-based soup tastes better and healthier than other Hotpot places. I found that some places, even though they are good, add too much oil to their soup which causes stomach issues most of the time. The service is ok; Interior design is nice and clean, good to take visitors but you might have to wait in line since they opened this year-2016 and got pretty popular. (Read more on Bon App)
Drink Here – Cafe on Air
When you get tired of shopping and walking in the middle of Huaihai Road – which is one of the most famous shopping streets in Shanghai- visit this hidden cafe Cafe on Air to avoid the crowd. The cafe is known for their coffee selection and quiet vibe. Try the seats on the window side that is facing an old Shanghai building with green garden. (Read more on Time Out Shanghai)
Sleep Here – The Water House
If you are looking for a unique hotel experience in Shanghai than the Water House at Cool Docks is the answer. Located at the South Bund, it is one of the three design hotels in Shanghai with a conceptual blending of the industrial and the contemporary. At the Water House, you can enjoy the beautiful & delicious food at their destination restaurant and the night view of the Huangpu River at the rooftop bar. (Read more from Design Hotels)
